Taylor Matthew Bennett is an American rapper from the West Chatham neighbor hood of Chicago. Artists like Twista, Nas and Kendrick Lamar have noticeable impact on his music. He claims that Kanye West's College Dropout had a significant role in his ability to see the fun-loving side of music.

Growing up with his brother ,Chance the rapper, in the same household enabled the two brothers have the same style and approaches with the exception of Taylor's tendency to rap at a much quicker pace during his verses. Bennett started selling out shows at local venues such as Reggie's and even opened for his Idol Nas at a Lollapalloza after party in 2014.

In 2015, Bennett released the mixtape "Broad shoulders" , also marked the first collaboration between him and Chance the rapper. It also features artists such as King Louie, Donnie Trumpet and Joey Purp. This was also his first full- album without any elements sampled from pre-existing songs.

Bennett's third mixtape, Restoration of an American Idol, released in 2017. Later that year, Bennett released,under the title "Throw aways" , compilation of set of previously unreleased and unmixed tracks. The bouncy Single "Minimum Wage" released in early 2018 followed a few months later Single titled "RicknRoll" along with the videos from his upcoming EP, "Be Yourself".

Bennett's next project was the 2019 EP The American Reject, an eight song set that featured contributions from Chance the rapper and Ty Dalla $ign among others.
